Edward J. McDonough Jr. has been a partner with Egan, Flanagan and Cohen, P.C. since 1987 where he began his career in 1981. His trial work covers a wide range of civil disputes in both state and federal courts.
In 2004 Mr. McDonough was admitted to Fellowship in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers (www.actl.com) widely considered to be the premier professional trial organization in America. He is currently listed in America's Best Lawyers, and was named a Massachusetts Top 100 Lawyers and Super Lawyers by Law & Politics Magazine.
Mr. McDonough regularly tries cases in state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
Mr. McDonough is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (BA 1977) and Western New England School of Law (JD 1981, magna cum laude), where he qualified for the Law Review.
Mr. McDonough is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, and he is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
In 2007, Mr. McDonough was selected as the first President of the Pioneer Valley American Inn of Court.
As chief trial counsel for the Sheriff of Hampden County, Mr. McDonough serves under an appointment by the Attorney General as a Special Assistant Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Born in Worcester, Mass., Ed grew up and still lives in the greater Springfield area. He is married with six children.
